HOW DO YOU STAY HOME WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE ONE?

Before COVID-19 we were experiencing a cracking start to 2020. in. Studio + Cafe was busy – our workspace was full of our wonderful clients having meetings, working and collaborating, and the cafe and meeting spaces were buzzing with our customers from surrounding Adelaide businesses.

Then COVID-19 happened and everything stopped.

As we isolated ourselves, we have had a lot of time to think. Think about ourselves. Our loved ones. Our businesses. About money. And worry. But most of all we found ourselves thinking about those people that were already vulnerable before COVID-19. Those people that were already socially isolated. Those at risk and homeless in our community. The strange sideways glances and wide berths we have been getting from other walkers during our daily exercise escape began to make us identify more than ever with the kind of isolation homeless people must feel as they walk the street.

And we got to thinking about the very real financial impact on the organisations that support these individuals – their fundraising sources have also been heavily impacted by the economic downturn. Before COVID-19 we were about to launch our CUP OF KINDNESS with our social impact partners Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Cup Of Kindness is a social impact initiative that allows not only our existing customers but anyone, anywhere to pay forward a hot drink, or a meal….to those in need, the rough sleepers and homeless of Adelaide.

So we have decided that we should not put Cup Of Kindness on hold but launch it NOW.

in. Studio + Cafe will make available the hot drinks and meals you contribute for (take away) collection directly by those in need from our premises at 268 Pirie Street, Adelaide. We will be working with our impact partners the Red Cross and the Salvation Army to help spread the word get your Cups of Kindness to people who need them.

Thanks to the government’s Job Keeper wage subsidy – we now know we can keep in. Studio + Cafe open for the foreseeable future and what better way to keep the staff busy and engaged while it is quiet than serving coffee and food to people in need during this difficult time!

You can contribute by visiting the Cafe and paying forward $5 for a coffee or $10 for a meal for someone in need when you pickup your take away, or by nominating your contribution online via our website, on the links below, or calling the cafe (08 8232 0115) with your credit card – and we will make sure we deliver your nominated item directly into the hands of those who need it most!
